The "it" word in our house lately... We have been working on our timeout technique over the past 2 weeks and trying to stress the importance of why we are giving a time-out. In the beginning, time-outs were more of a novelty and not taken very serious. David would sit in the "time-out chair" and smile and laugh... not very effective and even more frustrating for us, as we are already a bit on edge from whatever had caused the time-out to begin with! Well we finally
seemed to have a breakthrough!!! Many thanks Erika!!!
We realized that David finally understood the reasoning for time-outs today. Eric was walking with James in his arms and there was a blue car on the floor in his way (clean-up is another story for another blog....). Eric kicked the car out of his way so that he wouldn't trip on it while carrying James. Coming from behind Eric in his Irish whisper came David's voice.... "No kicking Daddy! Time-Out!!" After we composed ourselves we had to agree with David that Eric did indeed deserve a time-out!

Airplanes!!!!

Today was "Family Day". We had lots of ideas of what we wanted to do today. As you can see we had a bit of a pajama party this morning, which was fun but greatly deterred us from getting going. We finally made it out of the house all dressed, fed and h
appy by 3pm. We tried to get out earlier but naps took precedent! We went on a drive to find airplanes, which is still an obsession of David's. We ended up in Blue Hills where we could see lots of planes coming and going. Thanks to "Good Night Boston", one of our favorite bedtime stories, David was able to point out the Prudential and Hancock buildings from our spectacular view. It is always fun being with David especially when he gets excited, he has the loudest voice you have ever heard! It is fun to see how infectious his excitement is. When he was screaming airplane at the top of his lungs every time an airplane came into site, everyone around
couldn't help but smile! He has definitely been blessed with the Irish whisper...

New at this...
After much encouragement by friends I have decided to start the Saulnier blog. I'm not exactly sure where this ride will take us so hang on.... We are the Saulnier 5, Mommy, Daddy, David, Catherine and James. We started our family almost 7 years ago on September 2. David joined us on August 28, 2005, a day that forever changed our lives and also forever strengthened our faith. Catherine and James just joined our family 8 weeks ago today on February 2. Our lives are now completely chaotic and we couldn't be happier.... most of the time! We have been truly blessed with 3 of the most beautiful little miracles, which is what gets us through the bad days.
So here we are, our family of five. It now takes us five times longer to get out of the house, we do laundry five times more than we used to, we need five times more patience, we now sign five names to our cards, but we also have five times the hugs and kisses and five times the love to go around!
